On September 26, Cheryl Edelstein lifted at the USAPL South Florida Open Powerlifting Championships at Nova University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Cheryl went 9 for 9 with SQ-100kg, BP-72.5kg, DL-152.5, and TOT-325kg. This performance earned Cheryl the best female lifter award and numerous MN state records in the women’s 52kg open and masters divisions. She swept all of the MN Master 1a (40-44) 52kg records and broke the SQ, DL, and TOT records for the open 52kg class. Cheryl actually tied the current MN state open BP record but Maura Shuttleworth will retain that record since she set it first (at Twin Ports Raw Open in 2011). Congratulations to Cheryl on her record-setting day (including 6 PRs) in a meet that was meant to simply be a warmup for the upcoming Raw Nationals.
