State Records Updated after TCO and Bench Nationals

The MN state records have been updated to reflect performances at Twin Cities Open (TCO) and Bench Nationals. Congratulations to Mike Burns and Roger Gehrt for their first place performances at the recent Bench Press Nationals in Scranton, PA. Both Mike (105kg M1b division) and Roger (105kg M2a division) set MN state raw bench-only records. Many state records were set at this year’s TCO. Additionally, James Holmberg and Carley Miller set raw American records at TCO. State records set at TCO are highlighted on the results sheet found here. Please contact the state chair if there are any errors or omissions in the records. If you were an out-of-state lifter competing at TCO and you set a record in your home state, you will need to contact your state chair and let them know about your record(s). Along those lines, any MN lifter who lifts in an out-of-state meet (state, national, or international) and sets a MN state record needs to contact the MN state chair to get his or her record(s) updated.

Welcome to the New USAPL MN State Website

Today marks the launch of the new website dedicated exclusively to USA Powerlifting in Minnesota. Along with the new website, I am happy to announce the new USAPL MN Facebook page. Information about these new resources and other news in the state is provided in the 2015 MN state report. On this day 50 years ago, the first official senior national powerlifting championship was held in York, PA. To commemorate this event, an article has been written about the history of powerlifting in the United States.
